Wie der Name es schon sagt , liegt der Ort Eagle an den Ufern des Eagle River an der Mündung von  Brush Creek. Die Stadt ist der Sitz von Eagle County. In der Vergangenheit handelte man hier mit Landwirtschaftlichen Erzeugnissen und der Viehzucht.  Allerdings ist es heute ein wachsendes Erholungsgebiet im Vorort de Vail  Bereiches. Eagle hatte nie viel mit dem Bergbau-Boom in der Gegend zu tun. Einige Minen sind frühzeitig wieder geschlossen worden.  Andere Städte waren immer ein wenig mit dem Fortschritt voraus.  Aber die alten Zeiten waren gut auf den Verkehr durch die Stadt eingestellt.  Landwirtschaft basierte als Haupteinnahmequelle.  Der Rangierbahnhof bestand ursprünglich aus einem Depot, einem Sections House,  Bunk House und Wassertank. Alle anderen Gebäude sind in den darauf volgenden Jahre dazu gekommen.
